QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), a British higher education survey agency, announced the 2021 rankings of the best universities in Asia on November 25, with Asia University (AU) being ranked No. 301-350 in Asia, No. 24 in Taiwan, No. 10 in the private universities, and No. 6 in the non-medical private universities. In the announced list of the best universities in Asia of this year, the number of ranked schools has been expanded to 650, with the universities and colleges of a total of 18 countries entering the list, and AU is ranked No. 24 out of 43 in Taiwan. Its evaluation includes carefully-reviewed 11 indicators, namely, academic reputation, employer reputation, teacher-student ratio, teaching staff with doctorate degrees, average paper citation rate, per capita publication volume of papers, international academic cooperation, number of international faculty members and international students, and number of exchange students from other schools. In the QS evaluation, “academic reputation” and “employer reputation” account for 50% of the scores of the ranking, which result from questionnaire surveys sent to the universities all over the world, showing that AU has gradually established a good international reputation. In addition, about the indicator of the number of papers published per capita, AU is ranked No. 133 in Asia, No. 11 in Taiwan, No. 2 in the private universities, and No. 1 in the non-medical universities with a good performance. |
